A rooster is a boy chicken. Roosters have bright, colorful feathers and a red comb on top of their heads. They also have a red flap under their chin called a wattle. Roosters are usually bigger than hens.
Roosters are famous for crowing “cock-a-doodle-doo” early in the morning to wake everyone up! They are brave and watch over the other chickens to keep them safe. Roosters strut around the farm like they are in charge.
