Making a collage is easy and fun! First, think about what you want your picture to show. It could be an animal, a place, or just a cool design with shapes and colors. Next, gather your materials. Look for old magazines, newspapers, wrapping paper, fabric scraps, buttons, stickers, or anything interesting. You will also need scissors, glue, and a big piece of paper or cardboard for your background.

Now comes the best part! Cut or tear your pieces into the shapes you need. Arrange them on your background paper and move them around until you like how everything looks. Do not glue anything yet! Once you are happy with your design, start gluing the pieces down one at a time. Press them flat so they stick well. You can overlap pieces, leave gaps, or add drawings with crayons and markers to finish it off.

There are many different kinds of collages you can try. A paper collage uses cut or torn pieces of colored paper, magazines, and newspapers. A photo collage puts together lots of different photographs to tell a story or show memories. You might make one with pictures of your family, friends, or a fun vacation.

A fabric collage uses scraps of cloth, felt, and ribbon instead of paper. You can also make a nature collage by collecting leaves, flower petals, twigs, and seeds from outside and gluing them onto paper. Some artists even make collages using things like bottle caps, buttons, ticket stubs, and candy wrappers. You can use just about anything to make a collage!
