Ruby Bridges is a wonderful hero who was incredibly brave when she was just six years old! A long time ago, the laws were very unfair, and children with different skin colors had to go to different schools. Ruby was chosen to be the very first Black child to attend a school that was only for white children! Even though some people were not nice, Ruby walked into her new school every day with a big smile!
Ruby’s amazing courage helped make sure that all children could go to school together and be friends! She showed the world that kids can be strong and help change unfair rules. Today, Ruby visits schools to talk to kids just like you about kindness and love! She teaches us that it is always important to be a good friend to everyone!
