Anger is a very strong, hot feeling that happens when things don’t go your way or feel unfair! Everyone gets angry sometimes, and that is completely normal. It is okay to feel angry, but it is important to know what to do with that feeling.
When you are angry, your face might turn red and your hands might ball into fists. You might want to yell very loudly or stomp your feet. Your body gets hot and tight because anger is a very powerful emotion!
When anger bubbles up, taking deep breaths or walking away to a quiet spot helps you cool down. You can also use your words to tell a grownup exactly why you are so mad. It is never okay to hit someone or break things, but you can squeeze a pillow or draw an angry picture to let the feeling out safely.
