Fremont is a big city on the east side of San Francisco Bay. About 228,000 people live there. The city was created in 1956 when five small towns joined together into one! Fremont is named after John C. Fremont, an explorer who helped California become part of the United States.
Fremont Central Park is a huge park with a lake called Lake Elizabeth. You can feed the ducks, have a picnic, or ride your bike on the trails. In the summer, kids can splash and play at the Aqua Adventure Water Park. The Niles Canyon Railway lets you ride on old steam trains through a beautiful canyon. It is like going back in time!
