Raspberries are tiny, beautiful fruits that grow on prickly bushes with thorns on their stems. They are made up of many little round bumps stuck together, and each bump has its own tiny seed inside! If you look at the bottom of a raspberry, you will see it is hollow in the middle, which means you can stick one on the tip of your finger and wear it like a little red hat. Most raspberries are red, but they can also be golden yellow, purple, or even black depending on what kind they are.
Raspberries have a sweet and slightly tart taste that makes your tongue tingle in the best way. They are very delicate and soft, so you have to pick them gently so they do not get squished between your fingers. A single raspberry bush can produce hundreds of berries each summer, and the plants come back year after year to give you more fruit. Raspberries are full of fiber and vitamins that are really good for your body. You can eat them fresh, mix them into yogurt, put them on top of ice cream, or bake them into crumble. Some people even make raspberry jam to spread on their morning toast!
