Presidents' Day

Presidents’ Day is a special day in February when we celebrate the leaders of our country! We celebrate this holiday because two of our most famous presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, were both born in February. George Washington was our very first president, and you can see his face on the dollar bill and the quarter! Abraham Lincoln was our sixteenth president, and he was very tall and wore a big black hat.

The president is the leader of the United States and lives in a big, famous house called the White House. Their job is to help keep our country safe and make sure everyone follows the rules. Presidents’ Day is a time to remember all the people who have led our nation and helped it grow. It is a fun day to learn about history and dream about how we can be leaders too!
