Mount Rushmore is a very big mountain in South Dakota. Four famous presidents have their faces carved into the hard rock. Can you imagine seeing faces that are as tall as a six-story building? The faces are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. It took a long time and many brave workers to make this special landmark!
The workers used dynamite to blast away the rock and then used small tools to make the faces look just right. It is made of very strong rock called granite. People from all over the world come to see Mount Rushmore. It is a very special place that reminds us of the history of the United States!
