Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. It’s often called the “red planet” because its surface is covered in reddish-brown dust and rocks. Mars is about half the size of Earth, and it has some of the biggest mountains and deepest valleys in our solar system!
Mars is also a place where scientists are looking for signs of life. They have sent many robots called rovers to explore Mars and learn more about its history. Maybe one day, people will even travel to Mars to explore it themselves!
