Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system and also the closest to the sun. Because it is so close, it can get very hot during the day. But at night, since there is no air to hold the heat, it gets very cold.
Mercury moves faster than any other planet. While it takes Earth a whole year to go around the sun, Mercury can do it in only 88 days! That’s why we call it the “speedy planet.”
