Rockets work by burning fuel and releasing hot gases out of the back of the rocket. This creates a giant force called “thrust,” which pushes the rocket forward through space!
The gases are released at very high speeds, which is what makes rockets so fast. They’re also designed to be very lightweight and aerodynamic, which helps them travel through space more efficiently.
