When Sergey went to Stanford University in California, he met Larry Page. They became good friends and worked on a big project together. They wanted to build a better way to search for things on the internet. In 1998, they started Google in a friend’s garage! Their search engine was so good at finding the right answers that people all over the world started using it. Google grew into one of the biggest companies ever.
